Ms. Pac-Man is the second game in the Pac-Man series, released in arcades in February 1982. Ms Pac-Man introduced a female protagonist, four different mazes, more colorful graphics, and several gameplay changes.
The game was developed by Illinois-based Midway Manufacturing, the North American distributor of the original Pac-Man, without the involvement or permission of Pac-Man creator Namco. Ms. Pac-Man was the most successful American-produced arcade game of 1982, selling 115,000 arcade cabinets, and became one of the most popular arcade games of all time. It was eventually adopted as an official title by Namco.
